Liquid Foundation

“One’s self-image is very important because if that’s in good shape,
then you can do anything, or practically anything.

Sir John Gielgud”

How to achieve flawless coverage with liquid foundation:

In order to achieve perfect, no smear, no maps, no cake appearance coverage, follow these steps:

After washing face allow about 10 minutes for your moisturizer to settle.
It is great also to use primer before applying any foundation, especially mineral based are good.

Take a sponge wedge and put it under running water, then wring it out and squeeze it hard either on top of tissue or in palm, so not a drop water is left.
Put a blob of foundation on back of your hand, about size of small coin, add a spritz of water to thin it and press the sponge well down until the make up is absorbed.
Starting from the middle of face, sweep sponge upward- taking color just under the jawline, so it fades into the neck, up to the lips, over the cheeks, forehead and eyelids and up to the hairline but not into it.
Go rather slowly at this stage and use lightest wash you can.

If you overdo it, rinse the sponge, wring it out, and buff foundation off until the effect is just what you want.
If you under do it, use second application. At the end you can also blot with tissue.

Now, if you still need to do more cover up for darker spots or other blemishes, take a concealer stick and small brush with flatly cut but firmer hair, (like one for eye shadows) dab lightly into concealer and with a light poking directly on each spot cover all needed spots, one after another.
Make sure to match color of concealer closest to color of your skin.  You’ll see if you matched a right color when at this stage after dabbing just a few times concealer completely covers the needed spot.

Then you could still use a touch of powder, but never forget at the end when you finish applying your whole make up to spray skin very lightly with toner or some re-freshener  from a little distance. That would take away any powdery look and if you have a deeper wrinkles take a slightly damp sponge and press into those areas to minimize deepness of wrinkles. because powder tends to sink in and really doesn’t help to good look.
Doing all correctly you’ll see that you will achieve unbelievably smooth nice coverage and youthful dewy skin after natural oils come back in short time.

Having this base so perfect, to finish with eye shadows,  lipstick etc. is much easier and even much less of that part of make-up stands out much more perfectly.
But some more about that next time….

Note: Concealer stick is preferable to liquid one because it could be matched better, handled easier and
applied more precisely by patting it on the spot. It really stays in place immediately, doesn’t move, no need to dry up.

With beautiful you,
Maya
