Beauty Of Spring

In welcoming season of Spring I always feel something very special. Like a whisper of some magic coming… So I think…let’s be surprised what this year shall bring, besides all those beautiful signs that spring always delivers… the warmth of sun and erratic singing of birds, smell of flowers and new brightly green grass, so different smell in a woods, damp and cool, where pines are showing their peeking shoots, but still saying good bye to the last remnants of winter.
Days are longer and it seems as though a life has become longer too. Outdoor activities will soon be in a full swing, even my daily walks with my dog will be longer and I would adjust my own saying… “In winter it takes me one hour to dress and have 5 minutes walk, in summer I can dress in 5 minutes and have one hour walk.” : )
I love month of May, month of Love. I always wanted to have my birthday in May, until I realized that I was most likely “made” in May, being born in February, so I came to peace with it… :-)
But there is one thing that puts a dark shade on this Spring for me. March is a rather special anniversary for me. I’ve arrived to this country in March as a political refugee, escaping from communists government. It was always quite happy realization of reminding myself how glad I was to be in a free country.
But this year all is different. And I now it is different for all like me, for thousands of emigrants who came close to freedom often under very dangerous circumstances, sometimes close to loosing their lives. And now here are those who push just the same we escaped from to this country…same that took a lives from many and destroyed way of life for the rest. How very terrifying this is that all those who voted and still are in favor of this are lost souls in total ignorance.
I did not realize how very alive this all is still in me…I’ve lost completely my will to write more right now…this never happened before when I started writing…well, I told about all that in my six parts series “Truth”, including prologue “The Border.” (1st part)
I cannot request that you should read it, although it could open your eyes more, explain a lot and supply you with a piece of history as it really was… but I can ask you…please read it. If not for your sake, than for the sake of your children and grandchildren…
And I’ll thank you for it with many
thousands of others who nowadays
are as scared as I am…
